How it works · Selling online

Sell plants online. One cart, one checkout.

Your storefront is part of your site. Customers add plants to a cart and check out once, in one flow. Payments run through Stripe and money lands in your account.

The flow

Four steps to sell online

The same four steps every BloomSites store goes through to start taking real payments.

  1. Step 1

    Add your plants

Drop in product photos, set prices, write friendly descriptions. The product builder walks you through it.

  2. Step 2

    Turn on checkout

Connect a Stripe account so the storefront can take real payments. We walk you through the setup.

  3. Step 3

Pick how customers get their order

Pickup, delivery, shipping, or a mix. Choose what makes sense for your garden center.

  4. Step 4

    Go live

Publish your storefront. Visitors see real products and can pay you online from day one.

Your storefront

Plants, organized the way customers shop.

Your storefront is part of your website, not a separate tool. Same brand, same fonts, same navigation. Customers browse plants the way they expect — by category, by season, by what looks beautiful right now.

Each plant gets a real product page with photos, a price, care notes, and a friendly "Add to cart" button.

  • Real product pages

Big photos, easy to read prices, room for the care notes that help customers feel confident.

  • Categories and collections

Group plants by family, season, light needs, or anything else that helps customers find what they want.

  • Search built in

Customers can search for a plant by name and find it quickly.

One cart, one checkout

Customers pay once, for everything.

Your customers fill a single cart and pay once. They never check out twice, never enter their card twice, never get two emails from two different stores. To them it's one easy purchase from your store.

Behind the scenes, BloomSites handles any splits across fulfillment sources (more on that on the next page about the vendor marketplace).

  • Single cart

A customer can grab a perennial, a bag of soil, and a gift card. One total at the bottom.

  • Single checkout

One name, one address, one card. Friendly to first-time customers and to returning ones.

  • Single confirmation

Customers get one branded order email from your store, not three from different places.

Stripe setup

Payments run through Stripe.

Real online payments need a payment processor. BloomSites uses Stripe, the same one most online stores use. You connect your Stripe account once and BloomSites handles the rest.

We walk you through the Stripe setup step by step. When Stripe's verification is done, your storefront can start taking payments and money will flow to your bank account.

  • Guided setup

We tell you what Stripe will ask for and check that everything is verified.

  • Real bank deposits

After a sale, money goes to your bank account on Stripe's schedule.

  • Safe by default

Payments are encrypted and processed by Stripe. We never store card numbers ourselves.

Payment setup

Going live with payments

Take your first real order.

When Stripe says you're ready and your storefront is set up the way you want, flip the checkout on. Visitors can place real orders and pay you right away.

Not ready for online payments yet? Customers can still send you an order request. It's not a confirmed sale, but it lets you follow up and complete the order another way while you finish setup.

  • One switch

Turn online checkout on when you're ready. Turn it off if you need to pause.

  • Order requests as a fallback

Customers can still send order requests if online payments aren't on yet. Not a sale until you confirm it.

  • Every order shows up in your dashboard

See orders, customers, statuses, and emails all in one place.
